Chapter 8 talks about rough drafts and their importance and how to create them. I was writing on my first draft for project one today and I was comforted by the fact that chapter 8 described the same process that I sued in my writing. I knew the subject of my paper and I knew the text I wanted to use I just was not quite sure about how I wanted to tie it all together. I sat down and just wrote, I wrote down my entire story that I wanted to include in my narrative and I talked about my text. This is what chapter 8 told me to do. It said to just get all of the raw material out on the page so that is what I did. I sat in Strozier and simply regurgitated all of my knowledge and info that was prevalent to my thesis. It ended up being about 1500 words long but now I can trim the unnecessary details and I am glad that chapter eight suggested this strategy. Another helpful tips I found in chapter 8 was how to compose the literary work after getting down all the material. It talks about revising your draft specifically for the type of genre you wish to write in. It seems like a logical step to increase the clarity and overall purpose of your text.
